FAQ

1) HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE WAY YOU WORK?

My goal is to capture every special memory of your wedding.  I love to live every moment during your special day with you. My main objective is that your wedding is exactly how you dreamed, so I’m as little intrusive as possible. I also love shooting some portraits but remember: This is your wedding, and I am at your disposal…not you at mine! So, I will follow your direction to make sure your wedding is the day you desire.

3) HOW CAN I CONFIRM YOUR SERVICE?

First of all, you can check my availability for your wedding date by emailing me at info@thomasharris.it. Then we can take an appointment at my studio. If it’s not possible because of distance, we can Skype. It’s very important for me to know you before the wedding. When you sign the contract, you will need to pay a deposit to book the day.

5) DO YOU ALSO OFFER A VIDEO SERVICE??

No, I don’t provide the video service, but I am happy to recommend excellent videographers whom I have worked with.  I don’t book the persons I suggest, but it’s important for you to know that video and photo service are coordinated. Also, experience has taught me that natural light is best for an excellent outcome. You will see from my portfolio that there is no need for spotlights or artificial lights. 

7) WHEN YOU WILL DELIVER YOUR WORK?

It depends of the period you will marry. Couples who will marry in April/May/June could receive the pictures in about one/two months, but the contract allows 4/6 months because summer is a very busy period, and if I am photographing weddings, I can’t be in my studio doing the post production. My work is divided in two seasons: in one I’m outside taking the pictures (from May to September), and in the other I am editing and doing post production (from October up to February/March). I consider myself a craftsman and make everything myself…from the shoot to the print. I don’t delegate the choice and post production process to someone else because I think is the way to have a “signed work.” For me this part of my work is very, very important to deliver you the best photos possible.

9) CAN WE HAVE AN ALBUM?

Not only can you, but I recommend you do! I believe having your wedding images printed is extremely important! One day you can show it to your children!

I am a proponent of the Monnalisa Album, and I can suggest different kinds of traditional, Italian, handmade album. I can also make fine art prints. You only have to ask, and we will find the best product for your pictures.

11) WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR STYLE BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO HAVE SOME CLASSIC SHOOTS WITH PARENTS AND FRIENDS. CAN WE HAVE THEM?

Of course! Your wedding is an important family memory. I don’t publish this kind of pictures on my website, but I take them without problems. Remember: I am at your disposal so let me know what is important to you. You can help me by sending a list of the guests you would like to include.

2) ARE YOU AVAILABLE TO TRAVEL?

Sure! I live in Florence and most of my work is in Tuscany, but travel is no problem. I worked all over in Italy and, also, abroad. If the location is within about 100 km, there is no charge for travel. If your wedding is out of my region…don’t worry! We can negotiate the costs.

DO YOU OFFER ADDITIONAL SERVICES?

Of course! Ask me information about “Engagement, “Trash the dress, “Welcome dinner,” and other events.

6) HOW EARLY SHOULD WE CONTACT YOU?

There is no easy answer to this question because each year is different, but most couples book me a year in advance. The summer months, from May to September, are the high season. If you want to marry in June, July and September, I suggest you contact me a year before, especially if the wedding will be celebrated on Saturday.

8) WHAT AND HOW I WILL RECEIVE THE PHOTOS? WHO WILL CHOOSE THE PICTURES?

I usually deliver two different files. In one you will find all the high-resolution pictures from the wedding (could be 1000/3000, this number depends on the event); in the second you will find my personal choice which have undergone post production processes. Also, in this case the number could change according the service (from 100 for a small wedding to 500 for a full day).

All the work will be delivered according to your requirements either on a USB drive or a cloud-based private gallery available and sharable on any fixed or mobile device.

I choose the pictures because I think that a story should be told by the photographer.

Of course, you can request post production of other images without any problems. 

10) WILL YOU WORK ON YOUR OWN ON OUR WEDDING?

I usually work with one of my studio colleagues and I strongly recommend the presence of another photographer because reportage is based on “seize the moment” trying to tell the wedding day as fully as possible. This is the reason almost all my works are done by two photographers. I consider working alone when the wedding is nearby, the bride and the groom get ready in the same location, and the number of the guests doesn’t exceed 50 persons.

12) WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?
